An estimated one in four adults and one in five teens experience mental illness in a given year. Proudly Mental is part of the growing community of people who proudly support each other in times of difficulty, and celebrates the fact that the human brain is amazing, complex, and diverse.

Proudly Mental welcomes and inspires people living with diagnoseable conditions, like anxiety, depression, personality disorders, ADHD, autism, bipolar, and schizophrenia, as well as friends and loved ones who are their proud supporters.

This is a community intended to inspire and support. No shaming or flaming is permitted and the moderators reserve the right to remove comments not in keeping with this goal.

To find help paying for mental and behavioral health care in your area, Google the name of your county with “Community services board”

To search for counselors and therapists, check your insurance provider’s website for in-network providers, or try the Psychology Today therapist finder: http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/prof_search.php

For a child or teenager needing help, you can also ask your school counselor, psychologist, or social worker for assistance with a referral.
